Gigi Update
We received Gigi’s bloodwork results. Her numbers are better, but she will stay on Doxycycline for a week or so longer. At that time, Gigi will have her bloodwork redone with a complete blood panel💉. Dr. Grant from our partner vet, Heidi’s Village, wants Gigi’s numbers better before she thinks about moving forward with Gigi’s leg and spay surgeries. Please send some good vibes for our girl’s follow-up bloodwork results.
Meet sweet Gigi, M.A.I.N.’s newest rescue girl. We’re unsure of her age but will know once she has her vet visit. What we know right now is that this beautiful girl is sweet and loving and, on her way, to feeling better!
Gigi weighs 50 pounds and was diagnosed with tick fever. She also has lameness of her left hind leg, with a pellet and fragments visible on the x-ray. Yes, you read that correctly, a pellet and fragments IN her leg. There’s more, she has a 1/4 medial patella luxation on her right hind leg. She walks and will jump on the kennel door and balance on her hind end which is remarkable since both hind legs are hurt. Gigi will have a consultation with an orthopedic veterinary specialist soon. She’s being treated for tick fever and has pain medicine. Once we have more information, we will give you an update.

Please share Gigi’s post. We need help with her medical bills. The last four dogs we’ve brought in have had sizable medical costs, and two of the dogs have more to come.
