This gorgeous girl is Sasha and she’s ready to adopt a family.

Sasha is a 1 1/2 year old Husky Mix who came to MAIN with a broken hip. Her foster mom describes this wonderful girl as adorable, sweet, funny, smart, loving, affectionate, obedient, and the best snuggler ever. Sasha loves to play and chase her ball, even on her own, for hours. She’s content to just hang out with her person as well. She enjoys her squeaky toys while she’s helping her foster mom work. Obviously, the family she chooses is very lucky.

Sasha does well on a leash. She loves to play with other dogs and does great with dog experienced cats. Her K9 friends and siblings probably shouldn’t be little; only because Sasha’s a big girl. She’s house trained which she did on her own!  Such a smart girl and Sasha is always willing to learn more. On that topic, having breed experience would be an asset. Sasha would be great for someone who walks or hikes. It would help her let out some of that husky energy.

Sasha has healed well and completed her physical therapy. So now she’s looking for a family to love and who will give her all the love she so deserves.

If you’re interested in adoption or have questions about Sasha, please fill out our adoption application here: adoption application or email us at medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com.

Original Posting: Meet Sasha. She’s the beautiful 1 year old husky mix girl who, recently, found herself at the county shelter as an injured stray. Thankfully, Medical Animals In Need stepped in and brought her into rescue. Now she’s with one of our many amazing fosters.

Sasha’s foster mom has described Sasha as sweet, affectionate, and excellent with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She’s also been hanging out with some cats that have some experience with dogs so they’re teaching her the dog-cat rules and she’s doing great. Sasha is extremely smart and obedient and she’s kennel trained!

Sasha’s personality is great but this poor girl has some terrible medical stuff going on. She has a fracture of her left acetabulum (hip socket) which appears to be in the early stages of healing. She has laxity (loose muscles) of her left stifle (knee) which can be a possible cruciate ligament tear and finally, she has a pelvis fracture which will most likely heal well with crate rest. If that hip socket doesn’t heal on its own, she’ll need a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) but that isn’t a definite just yet. Right now she’s getting the rest she needs and will begin physical therapy soon.
