Meet Gizmo.

Gizmo's fractured legGizmo is a little guy with a big story! At just around nine months old, this pup found himself at the county pound, unable to bear weight on his right front leg.

He tries to look cute and get the attention of those who pass by…but the best he can do is limp up to the kennel gate, his leg shaking in pain.

Well, Gizmo certainly got OUR attention and we were happy to bust this little guy out of the pound and get him to our partner vet for treatment.

Upon further exam, x-rays show a terrible break in his right elbow joint; Gizmo will need surgery to pin this break in place so he can get around like the happy, carefree pup he deserves to be!

Gizmo’s Updates:

Gizmo has been adopted! Congrats to Gizmo and his new fur-ever family!

gizmoadoptedGizmo’s Petfinder Bio: “Hello, Hello! I’m Gizmo, a spunky and energetic Chi mix ready to find my fur-ever family! I may be a little guy, but I have a BIG story! I was rescued from the county pound with a horrible break in my leg. MAIN got me the vet care I needed and after surgery and time healing in a wonderful foster home, I’m 100% healthy…and ready for adoption!
I’m a very happy guy and love everyone and everything. Want to take a trip to the dog park? I’m game! Want to hang out at home? I’ll keep you company! Looking for a lap dog? A playmate for your dog at home? I’m your guy! Basically I’m up for anything you want to do. I get along great with the other dogs in my foster home, both big and small as well as the cat. Oh and you’ll really think this is cool- I know how to “sit,” “shake,” “lay down” AND “dance” on two legs! I’ll show you my fancy moves if you take me home with you! I’m house-trained in my foster home and foster mom thinks I would do great with a doggy door.
Foster mom says I’m the “cutest and tiniest little dog she’s ever had the pleasure of meeting.” Isn’t that nice of her?!

2013-11-08 21.16.37-2From Gizmo’s foster family, Sept. 29th: Tiny little Gizmo is getting better every day. He is really a very happy boy. He only gets to come out of his crate for total of about an hour a day because he has to stay quiet and inactive after the surgery. I hope that changes soon because Gizmo is very playful and is eager to play with our other dog.

From Gizmo’s foster family, Sept. 25th: We finally got to bring little Gizmo home tonight and we are already smitten️! Gizmo is such a lovebug! Here are a few of the better pictures I was able to get, but boy is it tough to get a good picture of a wiggly all black puppy. A pin was placed in Gizmo’s broken joint and the vet thinks it may be able to come out in about a month.
