Addie

Addie Update.

From Addie’s foster mom. I have the pleasure of fostering this little girl. She is the sweetest girl ever, within hours of meeting me she was asleep in my lap. Found out she was puppy pad trained pretty quickly. She doesn’t seem to mind the cat although can’t say the cat feels the same way. I’m looking forward to sharing her progress with everyone.

Addie had her surgery and unfortunately her leg couldn’t be saved. Even with just one back leg this girl continues to act invincible. She doesn’t let anything stand in her way; just like Adrienne Ayala would. She is a sweet girl who likes to be around people at all times but if she’s sleeping next to you try not to move because then it’s automatically play time and that tail starts wagging.

Addie got to visit her foster grandma and to say she had fun is an understatement. Here’s what her foster mom had to say: So a day at my mom’s house and Addie has already found her spot on my mom’s lap. I still claim that I’m her favorite though. …Addie had a lot of fun at my mom’s this weekend. Definitely learned some new things about her. She will not hesitate to steal a treat from a 70 pound dog. Addie will walk up to any animal with no fear. She walked up to my 20 pound cat and my mom’s 70 pound dog like she had known them forever. She did get a little freaked out over some fireworks but as soon as she was off the floor and in someone’s lap she was fine. The best part of the weekend was seeing Addie running around and being herself again. Next step is to get those stitches out so she can be cone free.

Meet Addie!

Addie is a 1 year old terrier mix who found herself at the County shelter. She was frightened and seriously injured. X-rays revealed a badly fractured femur. We suspect that she had been hit by a car.

This rescue is a little bittersweet for us. Addie is named in honor of our friend and fellow rescuer Adrienne Ayala. For those that aren’t aware, Adrienne was tragically killed in a car crash just over a month ago; a huge loss felt by the entire rescue community. She was the most compassionate human being, and a true champion for animals of all kinds. She wholeheartedly supported our work, and absolutely loved MAIN.

Adrienne, we just know that you were bowled over at the Rainbow Bridge by the many, many animals you helped in your lifetime!!

We will do everything we can to make sure that Addie’s life is nothing but perfect from here on out. She’s a very sweet little dog who loves to play or just snuggle up in your lap.

If you’re able to help with Addie’s medical expenses, we would be most grateful. Every single dollar you give goes to the dogs. Our PayPal address is medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com. You can mail a check payable to MAIN to: PO Box 758 El Mirage, AZ 85335. You can also call donations of $25 or more directly into our vet, Bethany Animal Hospital, at 602-242-1657. Let them know you’re supporting Addie with MAIN.

Please note that all donations are tax deductible. If you require a tax receipt, please message us with your email address after you have made your donation. For those that only require MAIN’s Tax ID number, it is 45-5178809.

As always, any help is truly appreciated. Thank you all for being part of our MAIN Family.

From Addie’s Foster Mom

Hi everyone, my name is Breanna and I’m new to MAIN. First post yay!!

Even with only the use of one of her back legs she continues to act invincible and not let anything stand in her way just like Adrienne would. She is a sweet girl who likes to be around people at all times but if she’s sleeping next to you try not to move because then it’s automatically play time and that tail starts wagging.

So a day at my moms house and Addie has already found her spot on my moms lap. I still claim that I’m her favorite though

Safe to say Addie had a lot of fun at my moms this weekend. Definitely learned some new things about her, she will not hesitate to steal a treat from a 70 pound dog. Luckily that dog lets the cat steal her food. She will walk up to any animal with no fear walked up to my 20 pound cat and my moms 70 pound dog like she had known them forever. She did get a little freaked out with the fireworks but as soon as she was off the floor and in someone’s lap she was fine. The best part of the weekend was seeing Addie running around and being herself again. Next step is to get those stitches out so she can be cone free.
