Skeeter is an approximately three month old Terrier puppy that came in to the shelter with an injured leg. Like so many of our dogs, we don’t know their history- how they came to have such tragic injuries or why no one family was looking for them in their hour of need…
We do know that Skeeter needed an outlet from the shelter; a foster home to recover in and medical care by a full service vet. Initial Xrays at the shelter clinic show a “comminuted fracture of the distal 1/3 of the left tibia with an intact fibula,” meaning that Skeeter’s leg bone is broken in several areas.
Once we saw this sweet guy’s face, how could we say no to helping him?! Skeeter greeted his rescuers with tail wags and kisses- he’s a happy, friendly pup despite his injuries and difficulty getting around
We will keep everyone updated on Skeeter’s progress. Please, if you are able, donate to Skeeter’s medical are chip in fund via PayPal below. Thank You!
Skeeter has been adopted! Congrats to Skeeter and his fur-ever home!
March 2015: Click here to check out Skeeter on the news promoting a M.A.I.N. fundraiser! He’s a superstar! Skeeter’s foster mom says: “He loves to play and is so dog and cat friendly. He is kennel and potty trained. Skeeter will do well in any situation, but would really flourish where he can get exercise or be with other dogs and kids. He is quite the snuggler and will do great with anyone that has a lot of love to give!”
Update on Skeeter, Dec. 2014: Skeeter is doing wonderful in foster and is healing quickly! He is a typical terrier puppy- full of energy and mischief! Skeeter will be available for adoption very soon- if you are interested in meeting Skeeter, fill out our adoption application by clicking here!
