Meet Roxie.

At just around 10 pounds, Roxie was no match for the wild animal that attacked her…

Roxie was brought in as a stray by Surprise Police Department, with multiple deep puncture wounds all over her tiny body. It is assumed a coyote attacked her while she was out wandering the streets.

How did this adorable girl end up homeless and left to fend for herself? How long has she been wandering, looking for the home she couldn’t find, a gentle touch, a meal?

Roxie was terrified upon our initial meeting and had jammed herself under the kennels as a safe place. After much time and coaxing, we were able to get Roxie out and show her we were there to help her.

Roxie is a very sweet girl who warmed up after some time. We know she will thrive in her loving foster home…welcome to your new, happy life Roxie!

Roxie’s Updates:

Roxie has been adopted! Congrats to Roxie and her fur-ever family!

Roxie's furever!Roxie’s Petfinder bio: Hi! I’m Roxie- a loveable little Terrier with a BIG heart! You might be wondering why an adorable girl like me is looking for a home. Well, not too long ago I found myself alone and homeless on the streets. I was picked up as a stray and brought to the county pound with horrible bite marks all over my body; it’s a miracle I survived whatever attacked me! Lucky for me, M.A.I.N. swooped in to rescue me and get me the vet care I needed. I’ve been recovering in a wonderful foster home and am now ready to find my own family! You can probably tell from my smile that life’s pretty good now. I’m a very happy dog and don’t let my past get me down. I love to play with other dogs and consider myself to be an expert wrestler! If you have a dog at home already, I’m just SURE we’ll be best buds in no time. After I’m done playing, I love to spend time with my humans; foster mom says I’m a “total love-bug princess!” Since I’ve been in foster, I’ve been learning some manners- I’m crate trained AND house trained. See what good girl I am?!

From Roxie’s foster, May 30th: Roxie grabbed as many toys as she could reach. She is good with my girl dogs. She slept in a kennel with no problem and she is potty trained. Her name should be shadow; she will not leave my side! She is a total lovebug. She has tons of scabs and scars and open wounds; it’s hard to find a place to pet that isn’t affected.
