Mickey

Mickey is looking for a family to call his own. Is that you?

This is Mickey. Perfect name for that face, right? You met him a few months ago when he came to MAIN with a badly fractured leg. Now though, Mickey is ready for adoption! Join us in a happy dance.

Mickey is 11 months old, goofy, playful, and an energetic puppy. He’s housebroken. He’s crate trained and needs it because, well, he’s a puppy and chews on things he’s not supposed to. He loves people, dogs, cats, kids, and swimming. He’d love to have buddies to play with, both human and K9.

Now let’s talk more about the puppy behavior because he’s got it. He counter surfs and steals things he “thinks” are his. He needs leash training because, when Mickey is out walking, he barks at stuff. Training will need to be continued consistently. He’s learned commands by use of body language, he sits while he waits for his leash, and like a toddler, he understands that mom’s stink-eye means, stop that bad behavior.

Mickey is a happy, playful, cuddly boy who is very smart and will be easy to train. He needs a human that’s committed to teaching him more manners so that he continues to be the happy boy that he is.

If you’re interested in meeting Mickey or have questions about him, please fill out our adoption application here: Adoption application or email us at: medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com.

This, oh so sweet, boy is Mickey. Perfect name for that face right?

Mickey is a 16 pound, 8 month old, Papillion mix. Like so many others, he found himself labeled a stray at the AZ Humane Society. Mickey showed up at the shelter with a badly fractured leg. He had a mandatory hold on him and he couldn’t be rescued until Feb 9th. Being an injured dog, we were contacted about him immediately, just in case an owner didn’t claim him. No one came for him.

Kelly put out a plea to MAIN fosters and quickly had a place for Mickey to call home while he recovered. He visited the doc at Heidi’s Village and there’s a very good chance that Mr. Mickey won’t need surgery or an amputation like was originally thought. At this moment, he’s got a spiffy cast and he’ll have a recheck soon. We’re pretty dang excited.

As always, we do need some help with his bills. We can accept donations through PayPal: PayPal MAIN and through Venmo: @MAINRescue or a check/money order can be sent to our address at: Medical Animals In Need (M.A.I.N), PO Box 758, El Mirage, Arizona 85335.

At this time, we can’t accept donations through Facebook because Facebook’s donation center is not playing well with others right now. (This is where the angry emoji comes in handy.)

Every dollar goes to the dogs. Our rescue is 100% dedicated volunteers. Please note that all donations are tax deductible. If you require a tax receipt, please message us your email address after you have made your donation. For those that only require MAIN’s Tax ID number, it is 45-5178809. As always, any help is truly appreciated. Thank you all for being part of our MAIN Family.
