Maxwell

WARNING! Extreme Cuteness Below.

Meet Maxwell. He is the 10 year old (maybe a bit older),  Shih Tzu boy that came to MAIN from the shelter. When he came in his mouth was a mess. It wasn’t immediately known that it was his mouth because he had blood and fluid all over his little face. Once he was able to be examined by our partner vet, it was determined that he was in need of a Mandibulectomy (and a grooming). That fancy word means, removing part of his lower jaw because, at some point, there was an injury that caused it to grow together. We don’t know what caused Maxwell’s original mandible problem (usually a fracture). We do know that he needed the surgery and was in pain. All went well with his surgery and he’s feeling so much better.

Maxwell is such a good guy. He’s easy going, super sweet, happy, playful, and of course, too darn cute. He’s being sufficiently spoiled in his foster home. He is eating with no problems. He has soft treats for now and as you can see, he has no problem with those either. His foster mom got him groomed and we’re certain that he feels much better all cleaned up.

Maxwell still has some recovery but will get back to being 100%. As you can imagine, his medical costs are adding up (as is true with all the rescue kids). We would truly appreciate help with his bills. If anyone would like to donate towards Maxwell’s medical, our PayPal address is medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com. You can also call donations of $25 or more directly into our vet, Bethany Animal Hospital, at 602-242-1657. Let them know you are supporting Maxwell with MAIN. You can also mail a check payable to MAIN to: PO Box 758 El Mirage, AZ 85335.

Please note that all donations are tax deductible. If you require a tax receipt, please message us your email address after you have made your donation. For those that only require MAIN’s Tax ID number, it is 45-5178809. As always, any help is truly appreciated. Thank you!!
