Meet Jetson.

Jetson is a two year old Westie mix who was brought into the county pound as a stray. His skin is swollen, red and crusted. What little fur he does have, is either in wisps or completely matted.

Despite his condition, Jetson is a sweet boy but it’s obvious he feels miserable.

Jetson is in horrible shape and there was no chance for him to make it out of the shelter alive without a rescue. M.A.I.N. stepped up for this little guy and we will be getting him a full evaluation at our partner vet. We suspect he has Sarcoptic Mange, but will know more in the coming days.

Please, if you are able donate to Jetson’s medical care chip in fund via PayPal below. The dogs only have us and we only have you. Thank You.

Jetson’s Updates:

Jetson has officially been adopted by his foster family! Congrats Jetson and your furever home!

Jetson!Update Oct. 2014: Jetson is doing amazing and has HAIR! He is really looking like a Westie now. 🙂

Update on Jetson, July 26th: Jetson has been on Prednisone for 1 week and look at his improvement. I am so happy for him. He no longer cries. He is getting his neck hair.

Update from Jetson’s foster mom, July 6: If you look closely you can see Jetson has some new hair coming in, especially on his tail which was nude. Unfortunately, his neck remains hairless, but it does not seem to itch him so badly. They suspect he has allergies/dermatitis.

From Jetson’s foster family, June 16th: Jetson is doing well. He remains gentle and loving. I took some pictures of him tonight enjoying the backyard. His back is still “nekkid” but not as scaly. The skin is also softer and pinker. I tried to get a good pic of his face. He use to have a red area between his eyes and now the redness is gone. I think he is showing some improvement!

Jetson! From Jetson’s foster mom, June 12th: Jetson slept all night without complaint, I never heard him once. This morning he cruised the backyard a bit after toileting. Then he must have thought he was a duckling, he followed me around like I was Mamma Duck. He is really sweet and very gentle. Lil’ Bear is tired of being patient. She wants to get to know him and maybe…play….with….him. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! She is very hopeful. Yesterday he had a great evening. He is very well behaved. His appetite is as big as his heart. I think he would eat around the clock if I let him. Jetson does not appear to be food aggressive, at least not with me. I wonder if he will be so with the other pups.

Medical update on Jetson, June 12th: Jetson’s tick fever is negative, Heartworm is negative, he has elevated WBCs, and we are waiting on his Valley Fever test results. They are still not sure about Sarcoptic Mange, so he remains isolated from his doggy foster siblings for now. The vet has recommended special food, vitamins and benadryl as needed for itching.

  1. Thanks for the kind thoughts, Mary. Be sure to check Jetson’s page for updates on his progress! 🙂

  2. My heart breaks and yet I won't give up praying and believing in humans to do the right thing. ,Just all need to get together and make it easy as spaying and neutering can be #1 and then less babies needing homes. Lots of love here and who do you count off? No one and Vets some donated time with control population, please
