Danner

We have exciting news! Danner is ready to find is perfect family.

Danner is the cutest 7.5-pound, 1 year old, Chihuahua mix boy ever. He is a truly happy boy. He loves his friends very much. He isn’t sure about feral cats, but he’s done well with his foster moms inside cat. He’s great with kids, and he loves his humans unconditionally. Danner has had two foster moms, and both have said that this boy is such a snuggler and so very sweet.

Danner has come a long way in a short amount of time in MAIN. He’s off crate rest. He’s getting around fantastically. His pelvic fracture is healing well. And, after his recent visit with our vet, we’ve found out that he doesn’t have knee injuries like was originally thought! That’s amazing news folks. What he does have is much simpler and that is tight patellas and cruciate ligaments. More exciting news is that tightness can be fixed with some stretching type activities. This is such a relief.

Danner will see our vet again in 6 months for new x-rays. At that time Dr. Katie will look at Danner’s progress; as well as go over any possible procedures Danner might need in the future. For now, though, he is R E A D Y to find his own people, his own home, and his own perfect forever.

Original Post – A few days ago this boy was known as: A4644729. Now he’s known as Danner; the 4-year-old Chihuahua boy and newest kid saved by MAIN rescue. He’s a tiny boy weighing in at only 5 pounds!

Danner found himself at the County shelter with severe bruising and inflammation along the inguinal regions and medial thighs bilaterally. Then after some x-rays, it was determined that Danner has a pelvis fracture and a stifle subluxation which is why he cannot put weight on his back leg.

Right now Danner is on strict crate rest. He’s allowed to go outside to potty and as you can see, he’s allowed to be super spoiled.

Here’s a note from Danner’s foster mom:

New foster Danner does not like his kennel. He had done fairly well; he just throws a fit when he cannot see me just like a baby. Little guy with broken pelvic and injury to left leg. He’s very sweet and adjusting. He does not like the cat and he will learn the hard way she rules.

Danner has begun his MAIN life and will be healed and happy once all his treatments are complete. For now, he’ll continue to be spoiled by his amazing foster mom.

Here’s the thing; as always we need your help. If you’re able to help with Danner’s medical bills we would greatly appreciate it. Every dollar you donate goes to the dogs.
