Cauliflower

Sometimes, animals just steal the hearts of those who work in the shelters…. So what do you do when you receive an urgent request from one of your partner shelters, a request to help a girl who is a staff favorite… a girl who’s been in foster but her needs are now beyond the shelter’s capabilities? You find a way to help, of course!

Meet Cauliflower!

This very special girl came out on the urgent rescue list, and was only available for rescue placement until end of the day. Our foster team stepped up once again!

Cauliflower is a 6 year old spayed terrier cutie pie that came to the shelter with a fracture of her left mandible (near premolar #307). An acrylic was placed for stabilization, and she spent time in foster for healing. The fracture was beginning to heal, but then the acrylic broke, resulting in destabilization of the original fracture as well as a new fracture of the right side of the mandible (at the tip of the canine #404). We’ve seen this before, and surgical repair of the fracture is now the most likely next step.
