Cassie

Update – Cassie has had her surgery and healed wonderfully. Now she’s ready to find the perfect family to adopt. So, let me share a bit about this happy and quirky girl. Cassie is very affectionate to humans and dogs but takes some time to warm up because she’s anxious. Why? We don’t know for sure but being hit by a car, having extreme bone breaks and pain, surviving for however long on her own, going to a shelter, and then going to a new home will certainly cause anxiousness. Speaking of anxiousness, Cassie is a licker. Her foster mom says Cassie loves to swim (with a vest on) and fetch in the pool. Cassie barks at times but she’s working on that and she enjoys some digging when she can (again with the anxiety). She is happy by herself or with medium to large dogs. No cats and no young children for Cassie. She enjoys running and that helps her with some of that anxiety. She is kennel trained and house broken and doesn’t chew or destroy.

Cassie is simply a loving, kind, fun, smart, happy, and anxious girl who wants a family of her own. She’s spayed, microchipped, licensed with Maricopa County, and up-to-date on her shots.

Meet Cassie. She’s a stunning 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix who was found injured. The Great Samaritan that found Cassie took her right to the shelter for help. It’s suspected she was hit by a car; but it’s known that she was a hot mess. No surprise there though; hot messes are MAIN’S specialty. Cassie came in with a comminuted fracture of the right femur, bilateral mild sacroiliac luxation and a non-displaced fracture of the left pubis. Oh yeah, she also had pneumonia. See; hot mess.
