Brodie

Meet Brody. He’s an 8 year old Chihuahua mix, weighing in at 7 pounds. Why was Brody at the shelter and in need of a medical rescue?

This sentence explains it all… “THIS PET CAME TO THE SHELTER AS AN: Owner Surrender (he is part of a hoarding / cruelty investigation) <failure to seek treatment>.”

Animal hoarding is not just on TV; it’s a real problem in Arizona. Alright, let’s get back to the positive of this amazing little guy Brody. His medical notes from the shelter say he’s older and has severe dental disease and a head tilt. He has limited vision. He needs to be neutered and as you can see, most of his skin is in horrible shape and tender. Brody’s lab work was negative for Valley Fever and Tick Fever. The shelter thinks he could have hypothyroidism going on. Also, he has an uneven gait. Brody is now on three medicines for all that he has going on. Poor kid has a whole lot of questions that need answers and we are working on doing that.

We got this information about Brody’s behavior and he’s as sweet in person as he is in his picture. Here’s what we were told: “On 12/2/2020- Volunteer C .S. shared feedback that when taking Brody out she was able to leash him easily, but when in the yard she tried to remove the leash and he rolled to the ground and started yelping loudly. She thought the leash could be uncomfortable for him since he’s missing all his fur around his neck. He should be carried in a towel in the future and she was able to pick him up without any issues. He’s a super sweet boy.” We think he is too. Brody is just a sweetheart all around. He also has a large foster sibling and he’s doing wonderfully with her.

Brody has only just begun his new life with MAIN. We’ll get him fixed up and spoiled in every way possible. He will soon forget the circumstances that brought him to rescue and he’ll look forward to his new forever family.
