This beautiful girl is Speckles and she’s up for adoption to the perfect humans. She’s a 3 year old Cairn Terrier mix that entered the County shelter as an injured stray. MAIN received an urgent plea to help her and soon thereafter, she came to MAIN. Speckles had severe hind limb weakness and the cause of her injuries will remain unknown. It could have been due to vertebrae compression, intervertebral disc disease or some other type of trauma. It’s suspected she was hit by a car but we can’t be sure. After treatments, some restrictions, and a great deal of love, Speckles is looking for her forever family.
Speckles is 3, spayed, up-to-date on all her shots, and has been microchipped. She’s house trained, enjoys quiet, calm dogs and is quirky and fun. She loves getting daily exercise and she needs to continue with that. Grass is ideal for Speckles but not mandatory. What she needs is a stable surface to exercise and play on. She needs carpet or rugs in the house to keep her from slipping. Speckles cannot be around stairs. She will always be physically fragile and stairs are too much of a risk for her. Speckles loves soft toys, sleeping on pillows, and playing with kids. She even has her own special dance when she gets fed. Speckles needs a person that will continue with her medications as needed and who understands her needs and who loves her as she deserves. She has a great personality, is deemed a princess by her foster mom, and she’s patiently waiting to find her own family.
After reading the full report on Spreckles I may not be the one for her adoption. I am 88 if that makesa difference. I am active in clubs and can drive. I do hospice work and away at lease 1day a week for prom. 4 hours. Is she OK with being along for a while. I do not have any grass for her to play on. And have tile floors. There is a dog park which we could go to. As for exercise daily walks would be about I could do. I am very capable in givingher a loving home and doing medicines, etc. i live in Surprise, Az. I would dearly love having her, but do you thibk we would be a match.thibk we woukd be a fit.
