Meet Sebastian! This adorable one year old Terrier mix was scheduled for euthanasia because of an infection with Sarcoptic Mange.

Luckily for Sebastian, M.A.I.N. stepped in to save him! He will receive treatment for Mange and then start the search for his perfect, fur-ever family!

Update Nov. 5th: Sebastian has had enough Mange treatments at this point that he no longer needs to be isolated from other dogs; Sarcoptic Mange is easier and faster to treat than Demodectic. He is full of adorable energy- tail wags, kisses and loves to play fetch with the tennis ball!

Sebastian’s Updates:

Sebastian has officially been adopted by his foster family! Congrats to Sebastian and his fur-ever family!

Happy Boy!Update from Sebastian’s foster mom, Nov. 18th: Finally, I got some pics of Sebastian! One pic is with his Snoopy doll- he places his stuffed Snoopy in his dog bowl and they eat dinner together. Sebastian is such a joy, always making me laugh. He wears his dinner coat lol. It’s a shirt made to decrease a dog’s anxiety, and it also helps with his healing by keeping him from scratching. He’s so cute, and such a good dog….I’m so in love.

Update from Sebastian’s foster mom, Nov. 11th: Sebastian only had one anxiety urination today so making progress! We went for another walk this morning, and the way he looks is so proud as he trots along beside me; you can see his confidence building. He is so smart! Today the doggy door went up, so we worked on his skills on using it. It’s a work in progress, but I am so impressed with him. We ended our day with another walk and he is now doing what dogs do- sniffing his surroundings, but he is so good! I bought him a little jacket made especially for anxiety, and it actually seems to work and he does not mind wearing it. Sebastian found Riley’s big comfy bed which Riley never used and he is putting it to good use!

Sebastian!Update from Sebastian’s foster mom, Nov. 10th: Sebastian did okay with the long drive- he was scared, not sure what was going on? He was so nervous the first couple of hours but he did okay with his bath and he eats well. I took him for a little walk at dusk which he did great with he loved it and that seemed to make his anxiousness decrease. He sleeps on a soft bed in his crate with his new stuffed Snoopy toy, his new Tennis ball, and a bone he found in the backyard (my dog Riley would bury his rawhide and his tuff bone toys). He cried for about 10 minutes in his crate then slept for a good eight hours.

Sebastian is so smart, he learned to sit and he walks well on the leash; it’s funny he trots likes he’s in a dog show and he is getting better with potty training. He loves affection, it’s hard not to fall in love with him! He gets the run of the house during the day, and he found Riley’s big bed so he is now taking a nap.

I worry about his Sarcoptic Mange, his skin is so red and he scratches often. I wish there was more I could do for him! I have been studying Sarcoptic Mange while he is taking a nap.
