Meet Missy.
Missy is an approximately 1 year old Shih Tzu. She came into the Yuma shelter as a stray with another dog who has since been adopted. But poor Missy wasn’t in adoptable condition and so she needed a rescue outlet…
Missy is missing her left eye and the vets are unsure if she was born that way or something happened to her. She also has a “frozen” knee on her right rear leg. The shelter vets think that the bone has slipped out of the joint and is stuck.
Missy will need an x-ray to know for sure what’s going on and we can determine a course of action from there.
Missy has joined the M.A.I.N. family and is currently in a loving foster home. We will keep everyone up to date on her condition as we know more.
Please, if you are able, donate to Missy’s medical care via PayPal below. Thank You!
Missy’s Updates:
Missy has been adopted! Congrats to Missy and her furever mom!
May 2015 Update: Missy gets around well on her leg and has no pain, so we fortunately do not have to remove the leg. She does need a dental but should be available for adoption soon. Her foster mom loves her and says she is SO sweet. Missy gets along with everyone she meets, both two and four legged!
There is a family out there that is going to think Missy is as perfect as I think she is. She is a perfect girl. The sweetest demeanor ever. She is housebroke and very dog friendly. She may have a little limp when she is on the move but she sure doesn't slow her down. She is truly amazing girl.
Hi Tobi. I would love to meet and get to know Missy. A few days ago, I filled out an application and have not yet heard a response. She would receive more love and kindness than she could ever imagine if she is able to be my new furry friend. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Beth. We replied to your application. Thanks so much for your interest in Missy.
