Meet Duggy.

Duggy has officially been adopted by his foster mom! We are THRILLED and know Duggy is going to continue to thrive in his fur-ever home. Congrats to everyone!

Duggy and his foster mom, Andrea walking through the neighborhoodDuggy’s Petfinder Bio: “Hi! My name is Duggy! Can you believe a handsome young guy like me doesn’t have a place to call my own? My friends at MAIN rescued me over a year ago and they can’t believe I haven’t found my fur-ever yet! I was first rescued from the euthanasia list at the county pound because of medical issues. I had a swollen and painful leg and upon further exam, it was discovered I had Valley Fever and Tick Fever. Luckily, after some time healing in a wonderful foster home, I’m ready for adoption! My leg is all better and although I will still need to be on Valley Fever medications for awhile I am otherwise 100% happy and healthy!Enough of all that boring stuff though- let’s talk about fun things, like toys and doggy friends. I love all those things! I love to meet new people and other dogs and am always up for an adventure. I walk great on the leash, so we could take a walk or hike together! It’s summer, let’s go swimming together- I’m an excellent doggy paddler!

Don’t get me wrong, I AM a fun dog, but I prefer a slightly more mellow environment. I’m just not one of those crazy, hyper dogs- I know how to chill out! I have lived with several doggy foster siblings of all sizes and we get along great! My friends say to be sure to be sure to tell you that I’m real smart. I know how to use that thing called a doggy door and if there isn’t one, I’ll let you know when I need to go out to potty. I have already learned “sit,” “stay” and am kennel trained. That’s pretty good, even if I do say so myself! At the end of the day, I would love nothing more than to curl up next to you- I’m a very sweet, affectionate boy and love my humans. Truly, I want nothing more than to be part of a family!

Duggy was approximately two months old when he was pulled from the county euthanasia list by M.A.I.N.

He had a suspected broken leg or Valley Fever so bad his joint is swollen to twice the normal size. Duggy was treated at our partner vet in Phoenix and then sent to a loving foster home for recovery.

Initial Medical Update: Duggy’s blood work indicates Valley Fever; his titer is 1:32, pretty bad for such a young pup. He’s dealing with Tick Fever as well. He is receiving pain medication and medication for the Valley Fever and Tick Fever.

Duggy is too cuteA note on Duggy from a friend: He is so good and smart. He is a spark- ready to go, he likes to play a lot with other kids, both two and four legged ones. He does talk some in a way when playing, and when he yawns he makes the cutest sound. He is ready to start meeting other dogs as he is finished with all of his baby shots, so he will be meeting people as well. He LOVES all, as you can see by the heart on his chest!
