Meet Zach & Zoie! This brother/sister duo were rescued from the county euthanasia list; both have terrible Mange infections. Tiny mites have burrowed into their skin causing fur loss, horrible itching and bleeding.
We see a lot of Mange at our county shelters and it never gets easier seeing these pups in such discomfort. This didn’t happen overnight…who would allow this to happen to these beautiful souls? How could someone sit idly by while an innocent animal suffered? We will never understand.
What we do understand is that we can make a difference in these pups lives now…and we need your help! Please contribute to Zack and Zoie’s medical care by donating below. They will receive treatment for Mange in wonderful foster homes that will give them all the love they never had before.
Together, let’s re-write Zach and Zoie’s story with the happy ending they deserve!
Zoie’s Updates:
Zoie will recover from Mange in a loving foster home until she is healthy enough to find her fur-ever home!
Update Jan. 20th: Zoie is doing well and getting healthier every day in her foster home. She enjoys playing with the other dogs, trips to the dog park and cuddles with her humans!
Update on Zoie, Jan. 5th: She ate a half a bag of treats! I put peanut butter on the treats and put her meds in it- anything to keep her eating. She’s so sweet! We are dog-sitting a dog who wasn’t feeling good today and Zoie went right over to her and layed next to her.
Zach’s Updates:
January 21st: Friends, there are days we rejoice with victories and we love to share them with you…The news we bring you this evening is beyond difficult to share. We’re heartbroken to tell you that Zach crossed The Rainbow Bridge yesterday, his little broken body too far gone to recover from the illnesses that plagued it. The Mange, Valley Fever and Tick Fever were simply too much for an immuno-compromised, severely neglected pup to overcome, even with all of the love and caring his foster mom showered him with 24/7. Our only peace is knowing what would have happened to Zach out there on the Rez, cold, sick and hungry…then seeing him resting peacefully in his foster mom’s arms the day before he passed. We know it was meant for him to be rescued by her…and that angels surely greeted him, along with all those who came before, as he made his way to his next journey. You’ll be missed little guy…rest in peace.

New video of Zoie playing with Keira and her foster family.. It looks like she's feeling better already!
It's feels so good to see a dog that has suffered so much and had given up…play! It makes everything okay and sets things a little more right with world. Thank you M.A.I.N. and the wonderful foster family for giving this baby life.
Zach seems sicker than Zoie. Would sure like more details when they are available.
We need a cure for Mange, ASAP
Thanks for saving Zack and Zoie.
So many beautiful and once forgotten faces. Thank you for bringing the sparkle back to their eyes.
We are sorry to say, but Zack passed away. His little body couldn’t fight off the Tick Fever, Valley Fever and the Mange. He’s free and safe now.
Zoie is doing wonderful, she’s a plump little girl full of energy.
Rest in Peace beautiful Zak… I am sure our wonderful animals go to Heaven and I hope my Brock finds you… your foster Mom loved you Zak. God Bless!
Oh my god, those poor babies! Oh, my heart breaks for them, but thank god for M.A.I.N :’)
