Meet Trixie.
Trixie is a two month old puppy with a broken jaw. She was brought in to the shelter with her jaw fractured and hugely swollen. Based on her injury, our vet believes these injuries were intentionally done by a person.
Trixie is just eight weeks old and weighs only five pounds…we don’t need to tell you that it is beyond us how anyone could harm something so innocent and fragile.
Trixie is being kept comfortable with pain medication and lots of love in a foster home. She is wearing a protective muzzle to keep her jaw safe until she has surgery at our partner vet.
We are happy that Trixie will finally know love with the M.A.I.N. family. We will keep everyone posted on her progress as she heals from this horrific injury.
Please, if you are able, donate to Trixie’s medical care chip in fund via PayPal below. Thank You!
Trixie’s Updates:
Trixie’s foster family decided they couldn’t let her go! She is now officially a part of the family…furever!
Trixie Update, March 2015: Trixie is now muzzle free! She is such a sweet girl; not sure what caused her jaw injury, but I doubt it left any long lasting effect on her. She seems to be just as happy as can be and so full of love. Trixie is beyond adorable, very sweet and loveable. She is good with other dogs of all sizes and has been around cats as well.
From Trixie’s foster mom, Feb. 2015: This little girl is so sweet gets along with my dogs and even enjoys the kitties! Trixie is great with my dogs big and small. She is very sweet! We are still working on potty training; she doesn’t always hit the pad, but if she gets out enough no problems. Good in the crate, little barking, just a really easy and loving little puppy to have around.
