Tino had a plea go out on 7/12 with county’s vet notes attached (see below):

been with us in clinic since intake on the 9th. Just witnessed a seizure for the first time but we were suspecting he was having them based on the condition of the kennel each morning. He won’t have much time now that we have confirmed he is having them and a plea has gone out.

We are going home with a lot of stuff ruled out and no answers. So I’m watching him over the weekend and then the recommendation is a neurologist. If I understand correctly they ARE suspicious of his having a liver shunt, but feel there is more to rule out before being sold on it.

* tested glucose level – normal
* x-ray of abdomen to see if liver looked small etc – nothing stands out
* scooting a lot so fecal sent out to rule out parasites
* ran bloodwork

Update July 16th 2017:

These videos show Tino’s pacing. One here just now and one at the vet’s shortly after I got him. Today is the first day I can just stay home and watch him. Otherwise he’s been mostly crated since I got him. Partly because of his behavior. We’d have had him out more if he liked being handled.

He wants nothing to do with being held or pet and so far he’s 45 mins into pacing. His dislike of being held comes out by fighting us incredibly hard and crying like he’s hurt. He will come up and smell us, but quickly moves on.

He had three seizures that we know of yesterday. So far we haven’t seen one today, but we could have missed some early morning episodes. I have to remember to move him to my bedroom tonight so we can monitor more closely.
I’m off to bathe him (he’s seizured in his food and bodily fluids several times. 😳) and hoping that bathing doesn’t trigger another seizure! On a good note he’s eating, drinking and all systems are working.

Update September 11th 2017:

Watch closely at the beginning of these videos – Tino may be part kangaroo! It’s brief considering hopping is his number one method of movement. Lol. He is doing amazingly well. He saw the vet last week and weighs in just over 4 lbs. No more screaming when he’s touched and seizures are at a minimum with his new medications twice a day. He still circles when he’s anxious or overstimulated but otherwise has settled into being a pretty typical puppy. He loves water and playing in his water bowl which we firmly believe he thinks his own personal swimming pool. We are working on puppy pad training and more socialization. He loves to hang out with the rest of the pack and sleep on the largest dog bed in the house.
