M.A.I.N. got a call about a pup in trouble, so we rushed down to see what was wrong and met Roland.
He is a sweet and friendly little ball of energy and he doesn’t understand why everyone is making such a fuss. He also doesn’t understand just how close he came to being euthanized. Roland will need expensive surgery to correct what’s happening to him.
We apologize for the graphic nature of the photos, but there’s no other way to show you how much this pup needs your help right now.
Roland first came into our care with a prolapsed rectum. He had surgery to correct this condition and is now 100% happy and health…and ready for his fur-ever family!
Roland’s Updates:
Roland has been adopted! Congrats to Roland and his furever family!
Roland’s Petfinder bio: Hi, hi, hiiiii! My name is Roland, an enthusiastic and adorable young dog looking for a place to call my very own! I’m sure you can tell from my pictures and video what a happy boy I am. I try to always have a smile on my face now that I’ve been given a second chance at life. You see, not too long ago, a nice lady found me in a box in an alley and turned me into the shelter. I had a horrible condition called a prolapsed rectum and would have been euthanized for my medical problem. Luckily, M.A.I.N. swooped in to save me, like the super-heroes they are! After surgery to repair my condition, I am 100% happy and healthy! I dream of being a super-hero too one day. My super powers include doggy kisses, cuddling and making you smile every day. We could do lots of fun things together, like go to the park, go on walks and snuggle up to watch tv! I play well with other dogs and would love to have a doggy sibling at home. I love to be next to my humans and consider myself to be an expert cuddler. Are you looking for a new best friend? A sweet snuggler, a playful pup?? Pick ME! I come highly qualified for the job. Just one look into my dreamy puppy eyes and you won’t be able to leave without taking me home!
Does Roland have a foster yet? Would like to know how the little guy is doing. Most attention is on Ruby right now, understandably. Sending prayers and wishes Roland’s way.
HI Krista! Roland has a potential foster pending, but if you are interested in fostering him or any of our future dogs, please fill out our foster app (https://medicalanimalsinneed.com/we-need-your-help/volunteering-for-m-a-i-n/foster-care/foster-care-application/) and someone will get back to you ASAP. Roland has to stay in the hospital for the next few days, but he is doing well so far. His updates will all be on his page and we are working on his video now. Stay tuned and thanks for caring about Roland! 🙂
You know what makes me even more sad. It’s that we don’t see the stories of agressive dogs being put down (or killed, if you mind me using euphemisms). The chances that a dog will be saved is higher if he/she is not aggressive. But what if a dog learned to be aggressive towards his/her abuser to protect him/her-self. I know you guys are doing brilliants jobs, but you do not put any videos of aggressive dogs, even thou behind every pitbull, rottweiler or dogo argentino there is a sweet puppy.
I would foster all the dogs if I could. Unfortunately, I live in Indiana instead of Phoenix. I will do what I can for M.A.I.N. from a distance. Your organization and volunteers are inspiring.
Thanks so much Krista. Our friends are all over the world and I know we have several from Indiana! Welcome and thank you…
Thanks for the support though, Krista! We love that people from other states and even other countries find our rescue inspiring. 🙂
Interested in fostering Roland, I am a Vet tech with 12 yrs experience and would to nurse him back tro health as I am home all week with my kids and work on saturdays.. Where can I fill out a form to foster him?
Thank you
Hi Erin! Roland has a foster already, but if you are interested in fostering one of our future MAIN dogs, please fill out our online foster app here: https://medicalanimalsinneed.com/we-need-your-help/volunteering-for-m-a-i-n/foster-care/foster-care-application/
Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon! 🙂
Donation made on behalf of Roland. What a sweet little face. Thanks M.A.I.N. for all that you folks do. I'm amazed.
Thank YOU, Debbie! Roland thanks you too! 🙂
MAIN’s focus is obviously medical, but there is at least one place I know of that addresses your concerns. I found an article about it a couple of years ago:
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-10-15/news/ct-met-dog-rescue-center-20101015_1_dogs-grooming-salon-ralphie
Found Chicago’s web site is available at this address: http://foundchicago.org/
I still think about “Ralphie” and wonder how he is doing. 🙂
I could also foster Roland if the vet tech foster falls threw. As a nurse I am comfortable with any care and he would do well with my group.
Love the video! Roland looks wonderful and so cute! So glad he is doing well… M.A.I.N. is super fantastic! Thanks for helping him and each and every pup you save!
Thanks for helping and saving this cutie.
