Meet Piper.
This beautiful Rottweiler puppy was taken in from Yuma Humane Society. She was surrendered to the shelter with a leg injury that her former owner said needed surgery, but they could not afford…
The details are that Piper was found around July 4th by her owners tangled up on a tarp that was covering her outdoor pen. Yes, we said outdoor pen. This poor puppy lived a life outside in the extreme Arizona heat. 🙁
Piper had apparently twisted and turned multiple times to get loose from the tarp, causing an injury to the leg.
As time went on, Piper used the leg less and less, until she eventually could not bear any weight on it.
Thankfully, now that Piper is with MAIN, she will never know a day of discomfort again! Piper is a complete sweetheart, although a bit nervous of the indoors. We will be getting her to our partner vet for repeat Xrays and will keep everyone up to date on the diagnosis and plan of care for Piper.

Piper’s Updates:
Piper had successful orthopedic surgery for her broken leg and is doing great so far! We are so glad the vet was able to save her leg!
