Meet Pierre.
Pierre is listed at seven years old and weighs just 10-12 pounds. This poor little guy was rescued from the county shelter in bad shape and would have been euthanized for his issues.
Pierre has discharge from both eyes, a cough, bilateral ear infections and hair loss on his back. In addition, he has a very large lump on his left rear leg. We aren’t sure yet exactly what this area is, but county vets are suspecting a tumor.
Needless to say, Pierre needs a full service vet to get him on the road to health again! M.A.I.N. and a loving foster home have stepped up for this guy and we will keep everyone updated on his progress.
Please consider a donation to Pierre’s medical care chip-in fund below. Thank You!
Medical Update on Pierre, Sept 2014: Pierre has kennel cough and is on antibiotics. All of his bloodwork came back negative thus far with the exception of being slightly anemic (he had tons of ticks on him on intake). The vets are thinking the spots of hair loss are from the ticks, but if they don’t resolve with medication then we will do a skin scrape to the areas to test for mange
Pierre’s Updates:
Pierre has been adopted! Congrats to Pierre and his furever family!
Medical Update, Sept. 2014: The vet removed a giant lipoma aka benign fatty tumor from Pierre’s leg (see picture gallery below). That thing is huge! He also lost a good number of teeth that were rotten.
Update from Pierre’s foster mom, Sept. 14th: Pierre had his surgery! I picked him up tonight and he was so happy to see me. All is going well with his leg, the left leg is bandaged but he is happy to be at our home. He even uses the doggie door; what a polite man he is!
