Meet Myka.
Myka was initially adopted from the county shelter and then returned for “fainting.” Volunteers and staff had observed several spells where Myka would “fall over” and need to be picked back up again.
The county shelter vets suspected some sort of underlying heart, lung or neurological disorder and Myka needed an outside, full service vet for diagnostic testing.
M.A.I.N. took in this sweet “pocket Pittie” and we have started initial bloodwork and observation at our vet’s office. Myka has not had another one of these “fainting” episodes since being with M.A.I.N.
She is now in a wonderful foster home who is observing her closely. We will keep everyone updated on Myka’s progress. Please, if you are able, donate to her medical care via PayPal below- every little bit helps. Thank You!
Myka’s Updates:
Congrats to Myka, who has found her furever home!
Myka’s Adoptapet bio: Hello there, my name is Myka and the wonderful humans at M.A.I.N. took me in because I was having “fainting spells” when I was living at the shelter. Well, just call me Scarlett O’Hara! Once I got to my fabulous foster home my “spells” miraculously stopped! I may be a better actress than I think. So life is now GREAT! I just to run around with my dog (and cat) friends and behave just like a normal, playful pup. I even sleep in my crate and don’t make a peep (but, please leave the door open). I’m very, very low maintenance and tiny. My humans call me their pocket pitty. I use the dog door (leaned it on my own really fast), don’t make messes in the house and love to cuddle and snuggle up with my humans. Yep, life here is pretty good. It could only get better if I had a home of my own with some loving, active humans. Could that be you? Let me know if you want to meet me. I really am a very nice little pup!
From Myka’s foster mom, Aug. 2015: Myka hasn’t had any fainting spells while in foster. She loves our dogs and ignores the cats- even cats who rub their faces on hers. She hasn’t destroyed anything. She sleeps well in a crate, but if we get up early to let the dogs out and go back to bed, we bring her in and she sleeps on the bed like a charm. She has dug a couple times in our grass but stops with correction. She’s really very good!
