Meet Mortimer.
This 5 month old Poodle boy was brought into the Phoenix Shelter, matted and sick. When the hair was trimmed from his face, we found that his left eye was non-viable and that he had several wounds in his face that were filled of maggots!
He’s in a loving foster home tonight. We have run bloodwork and taken xrays of his head and face. The xrays have been posted to some specialist boards since they are puzzling. We are assuming that this has all been caused by some sort of trauma but want to rule out any other possible causes. We also don’t know at this point if we will be able to save the other eye.
We will update as soon as we know more.
Please, if you are able, we would truly appreciate assistance with his mounting vet bills. Â Thank you SO much!!
Mortimer’s Updates:
Mortimer has been adopted! Congrats to Mortimer and his forever family!
From Mortimer’s foster mom: “Mortimer loves everyone he meets. He is super playful with other dogs and children. He is currently working on potty training and making good progress. He sleeps in a kennel for 8 hours a night with no accidents or need to go outside anymore! He would make the perfect addition to any home seeking a lovable puppy companion!”
Mortimer Update, June 2016: Mortimer is doing amazing in foster! This guy is so full of love and puppy fun! He’s kid approved, people approved, dog approved- everyone loves Mortimer!
Is there an update on little mortimer? thank you <3
