Please help us out by sharing this post.
Meet Monkey. He’s part of our recent, new kids on the block gang and the third of that group to have had this surgery.
Let’s talk about this amazing boy and we’ll let you know about his progress soon (hint: he did great with surgery).
Monkey’s major medical needs were beyond the AHS’s resources and Monkey didn’t have a lot of time left. M.A.I.N. received a plea and Monkey was safe within the hour. Without foster homes and your donations, we wouldn’t be able to save dogs like this cutie. Thank you all.
Monkey is a sweet 1 ½ year old, 13 pound wire-haired terrier mix who found himself taken to the AHS by a Good Samaritan. Monkey was a mess as you can see from his initial x-rays. He was in need of an orthopedic consult because he had a badly fractured pelvis and malformed front legs. The pelvic fracture was primarily left acetabulum, left pubic bone and ischiatic ramus (the entire hip).
Welcome sweet boy, we’ve got ‘cha.
Even at the low-cost rate we have through Heidi’s Village, the cost of FHO surgery is still around $3,000. We understand it’s not simple to find “extra” money; especially at this time of year. We appreciate any donation to help with these bills. We’re 100% volunteer so every dollar goes to the dogs.
We also appreciate the support you all give M.A.I.N. and thank you for being part of the family.
