JoJo is ready for a family.

JoJo came in with some terrible skin problems. He had raw areas, dark thick areas, patches without fur, and open sores. He was extremely itchy and getting worse. He got in to see our partner vet at Heidi’s Village and was put on a treatment plan which worked wonderfully. Now, he’s looking for the perfect family.

JoJo is a 2.5 year old, 17 or so pound Pug. He’s pretty kicked back, loving, obviously handsome, and ready to be adopted.

JoJo has been neutered, microchipped, licensed with Maricopa County, and is up to date on vaccines.

If you’re interested in adoption or have questions about JoJo, please fill out our adoption application or email us at: medicalanimalsinneed@gmail.com.

This is our newest M.A.I.N. boy, Jojo. He is 2.5 year old and looks like a purebred pug. A bit of trivia here is that without AKC paperwork, M.A.I.N. can’t say for sure if a dog is purebred because we honestly don’t know. However, I think we can all agree that some dogs just look pure.

Jojo was on the e-list at the shelter. His skin was deteriorating quickly. Poor Jojo has hair loss, his skin is patchy with dark areas, and he has some nasty bloody areas on his bum and ears from scratching. He has raw skin and areas between his skin folds, face, and legs that are as red as can be. He also has areas that the skin is so thick. Jojo’s tail, ears, and rear-end are like that. It looks like the elbow skin some older dogs have. The shelter vet did some skin scrapes and didn’t find any mites which is great. Jojo is miserable but will see the vet today.

Another side note is that we couldn’t get Jojo in with our partner vets at Heidi’s Village. Normally, the dogs can wait for a week or so to be seen if necessary. However, Kelly knew that Jojo was miserable so she authorized Jojo to go to the foster’s family vet. That vet doesn’t give a rescue discount but in some rescue situations the money can’t matter. This is another reason we are so grateful for you all helping make those things possible through your donations.

Jojo will need long-term care. Skin generally reacts quickly to medicines but after that initial phase, healing slows. He will have steroids, anti biotics, medicated prescription shampoos, likely a prescription food to help limit the ingredients, and several follow-up visits. So, you guessed it, we need help!

We’re already way behind with this boy’s medical. If you are able to help with sharing our post to get Jojo’s story out there, or if you’re able to donate, no matter what, we are truly so appreciative to you all.
