Meet Jericho. This tiny boy was brought into the shelter after he was witnessed being hit by a car. A plea was sent out, and we answered the plea immediately.
His injuries are painful and severe, but through it all he is the sweetest little boy. Although he has a femoral fracture and several pelvic fractures, of most concern right now is the fracture at the base of his tail. There are many nerves that pass through there that are crucial to bowel, bladder and ambulation function. Right now he is on crate rest and good pain medication while we assess his use of the leg that is fractured. If he is able to use the leg, we should be able to save it. Paws crossed!
Jericho would appreciate all of the good thoughts and prayers that you can send his way while we work out a treatment plan for him. He’s just a baby at 8 months.
Update:
Jericho’s best day yet. I took him out this am. He walked on all 4 feet. I think his tail moved a little …and….he peed on his own and made a giant poop! Only a foster mother appreciates this joy😉
