Meet Janie! Janie has a fractured Tibia, and has dealt with this painful injury for weeks while she waited for a lifeline.
But, this sweet pup was so happy to meet her new foster mom, Kim that you’ll never see her flinch from the pain.
A few goodbyes from her friends at the shelter and Janie was on her way.
Our latest foster will let her spend the first night in a long time, snuggled into a fluffy bed before she visits Dr. Katie tomorrow for x-rays and a treatment plan.
We’ll keep you updated on Janie’s progress, and if you find that you can spare a few bucks to help her out with her x-rays and treatments, then Janie and the rest of us at M.A.I.N. would appreciate it very much!
Janie’s Updates:
Janie has been adopted! Congrats to Janie and her new fur-ever family! Special thanks to her foster family, who made her happy ending possible.
Update on Janie, April 2nd: Victory in the training of Janie! If you look at the early pictures, you see the ribs, vertebrae and hipbones rather prominently. This poor girl had to hunt for food while on the street and had trouble finding it. It became very obvious at dinnertime when she would inhale her food and go after Dillon and Simon’s bowls. I was having to feed her in the hallway and sit with her until they finished (which took forever sometimes because they kept running over to the hallway to see what we were doing). Tonight, I fed her in the same room with the boys…I set her bowl about 10 feet from Simon’s…..everyone ate their own food and when she was done, she came over to me instead of going to their bowls. It may seem like a small victory but it is a victory nonetheless!
From Janie’s foster mom, March 22nd: Janie did great at her appointment at the vet. She now has some pain medications to take which should make her feel a lot better. Dr. Miller guesstimated that she was 10-12 months old. She will go in Monday for Xrays and possibly surgery. She did great last night and foster brother, Simon, guarded her the entire time. Bonus…I think she is housebroken! She is such a sweetheart!
Thanks so much for helping this beautiful girl! Gladly donated… The kind folks at M.A.I.N. are awesome!
Thank you Diane! It's people like you who continue to allow all of this good stuff to keep happening!
Was there something wrong with Janie, as she looked OK apart from being rather underweight. Love the video and the music was rather apt,
NVM just clicked on your website and saw she had a fractured tibia, also donated while I was on your web site, and really hope Janie feels better soon, Please let us know how she is doing/when she gets her forever home. I would take her in a heart beat but I am in the UK 🙂
Thanks for saving her.
