Meet Henry; the three-legged Mini Dachshund boy. Henry was brought into Pinal County Animal Shelter and they immediately contacted MAIN, asking for help with this little guy who had so much going on. Henry came in with a broken femur on one leg, an infected and dislocated toe on a different leg, and a twisted kneecap on his other leg. One good leg out of four is what brought about his nickname…Hot Mess Henry.
Henry had surgery with the hope of repairing the nerve damage and bones in his broken leg. Unfortunately, the nerves and the muscles didn’t cooperate and Henry’s leg had to be removed. He also had to have that terrible toe removed. The kneecap injury is improving with exercise. After all of that, we now have the cutest three-legged, mini dachshund ever.
Henry is 6 pounds of boy. He is house broken and neutered. He gets around wonderfully. He is content to hang out in his bed and also loves to be a lap dog. Henry will play with any toy that has a squeaker in it. He enjoys being outside and gets along with all the other dogs in his foster home. He is surrounded by various ages, personalities, both male and female, larger and smaller, and he does great with them all. Hot Mess Henry has had a rough road back to being healthy. He deserves a perfect home and family to be his forever.
