Meet Farley.
Farley was brought into the county shelter with a pretty significant femur fracture. You can see in the X-rays that his bone is broken all the way through!
We don’t know Farley’s past and so we don’t know how this injury happened; how a two month old puppy came to have such a horrible injury.
One thing we DO know though, is that despite his injury, Farley is all puppy! He is full of kisses and tail wags for his rescuers and tries so hard to greet each person that walks by his kennel.
We will be taking Farley to our partner vet so he can get started receiving the medical care he needs to heal. As always, we will keep everyone updated on his progress. We can’t wait for the day that Farley can run and play like the other puppies!
Please, if you are able, donate to Farley’s medical care chip in fund via PayPal below. Every little bit helps. Thank You!
Farley’s Updates:
Farley has been adopted! Congrats to Farley and his new fur-ever family!
Update from Farley’s foster mom, Jan 2015: Farley is so wiggly it’s hard to get a good photo! We went for a nice long walk last night around the park and he did great. Nothing seems to phase him (bicycles, soccer, softball, etc)! Farley is about four months old now and weighs 25 pounds. He has healed well from his femur fracture. He is an active dog and we are working on his manners/”mouthiness.” At this point, we would say a home with no small children.
Update, Nov. 2014: Farley is currently on activity restrictions in his foster home. Since Farley gets around well, our vet is hoping the break will heal on it’s own without surgical intervention. We will be repeating the xrays in two weeks. For now, Farley is happy and safe in his foster home; just try slowing THIS puppy down!
