Meet Everly.
Everly was rescued from the county shelter with a multitude of issues. His bloodwork was abnormal, he has a mouthful of rotten teeth and a cough that has not improved despite three weeks of antibiotics at the shelter.
The shelter vets suspected Everly may have Valley Fever, a collapsing trachea or even cancer. Everly needed a full service vet and rescue to step in for him to find out what is going on!
Initial xrays do NOT show a collapsing trachea, which we are very relieved about! His bloodwork shows some elevated liver enzymes and a high white blood cell count, which is consistent with the horrible mouth infection he has. We are pending results of his Valley Fever test.
For now, the plan is to monitor Everly in a foster home and he has been cleared for surgery to remove his rotten teeth. We will keep everyone updated on his progress. Please, if you are able, donate to Everly’s medical care chip in fund via PayPal below. Thank You!
Everly’s Updates:
Everly has officially been adopted by his foster mom! Congrats to all!
From Everly’s foster mom, Sept. 2015: What a great little old man! Slept well in the bed and no coughing. The cough seems to be when he is a little more active. He gets along amazing with dogs and cats. He has a very mellow demeanor. He was great taking a bath this morning and he got his nails clipped without any problem, which is more than i can say about any other fur kid here. He is just a happy little guy and I am really glad to have him here.
