Meet Elliot.
As if this puppy’s sad eyes weren’t enough to make us want to rescue him immediately, his sad story made things even worse. Elliot was taken to a vet by his former family where he was diagnosed with puppy strangles. Unfortunately instead of treating his condition themselves, the family surrendered him to the county shelter.
Elliot was obviously not suitable for adoption and so needed a rescue to step up. Puppy strangles is a nodular and pustular disorder that causes swelling and infection, most commonly around the muzzle and ears/eyes.

Elliot has been adopted! Congrats to Elliot and his new furever family!
Update, April 2015: Elliot’s face has already changed so much! He’s starting to look like a whole new puppy. His hair is already growing back on his muzzle and around his eyes. He is going to be such a gorgeous boy! Oh, and he’s already learned how to sit!
