Meet Beverly, the newest member of the MAIN family.
One of our volunteers happened to be at the shelter when this tiny 6 lb girl was brought in. Her injuries are consistent with being dragged, possibly as the result of being hit by a car. The shelter asked if we could help and of course we said yes. She’s beat up and has avulsion injuries, and she’s missing some of her pads and toenails. You can also see the pretty significant injury to the left side of her face / jaw. 😞
You’re safe now baby girl!
Update:Â
Poor little Bevy hides. She tries to tuck her chin as much as possible. We think she just doesn’t want to look at anyone or anything. We all have days like that too so we get it.
She needs to gain a few pounds, and her poor little feet are so sore. She stands on them only long enough to pee then tries to sit. She will follow up with our vet today and we will keep you posted on her progress.
Update:
Beverly spent the whole week at our vet getting treatment for her injuries. Her paws were badly infected. She now has some pretty casts instead of those plain and unflattering tan looking things she had before; she’s grateful for that. She’s home with her foster family for the weekend and then will go back to the vet on Monday morning for a recheck and another bandage change.
A week of hospitalization is expensive! If you’re able to donate to help us with this we would so appreciate it!! If you are unable to donate please share. Thank you!
Update:
Look at Beverly’s feet!! They look SO MUCH BETTER! She has skin and is getting little bits of fur. She’s so not happy with her bath though as you can clearly see LOL.
