Stella, SAFE!Meet Stella.

Stella was rescued from the county shelter after they reached out for a rescue to help. Poor Stella was adopted, but when she tested positive for Tick Fever AND Heartworm, her adopter’s declined the adoption.

Now Stella not only had no home, but was at risk for euthanasia due to her medical conditions. MAIN stepped up for this beautiful dog and will get her the medical treatment she needs to get healthy.

She is currently in a wonderful foster home and has been started on Tick Fever and Heartworm medication.

Stella is doing well so far and we will keep everyone updated on her progress. Please, if you are able, donate to Stella’s medical care via PayPal below. Stella will be with MAIN for a little while undergoing treatment, and we truly appreciate any amount you are able to give to help. Thank You!

Stella’s Updates:

Friends, we’ve got some very sad news to report. Stella passed this week, very suddenly and unexpectedly. She had become very sick recently with all her concurrent illnesses and was admitted to the hospital. Our wonderful partner vet took her home for the night to closer observe her. The family was sitting with her when she suddenly passed away- we believe it was an emboli (blood clot) that went to her brain and she was gone. Needless to say, we are beyond heartbroken.

From Stella’s foster mom, Aug. 2015: Stella is such a sweet girl! I’m so happy I am able to have her and she’s adjusting very well. We have 5 cats which she completely ignores, but loves their wet food! She has yet to learn what toys are, and we did finally find a treat she likes. She loves to hang out on the floor near the dinette, or on the kitchen rug or follow me when I’m up and about. She’s just precious!
