Macy, Corgi/Dachshund Mix

photo 1Meet Macy.

At just three months old, Macy is so young to be in such bad shape.

She was found as a stray and confirmed positive for Sarcoptic Mange, making her unadoptable at the shelter.

As you can see from the photos, this poor girl can’t stop itching…it’s constant and Macy is miserable.

Luckily, M.A.I.N. stepped in to save this girl from euthanasia and she’ll soon be on her way to health!

She will receive daily medications and baths to kill the mites- and of course, tons of TLC in a wonderful foster home.

Macy’s Updates:

Macy has been adopted! Congrats to Macy and her fur-ever family. Live long and happy, sweet girl!

Macy's fur-ever familyMacy’s Petfinder bio: Hello ladies and gentleman, boys and girls! My name is Macy and I’m looking forward to meeting you! I’m just sure once you read all about me and see my pictures, you’ll set up a meet and greet with me right away. Not too long ago, I was found wandering the streets of Phoenix, scared and alone. I was brought into the county pound, but scheduled to be euthanized because I had an infection called Mange that caused my hair to fall out and my skin to itch. Luckily, M.A.I.N. swooped in to save me and after time healing in a wonderful foster home, I’m healthy and ready for my fur-ever home! Foster mom says I am “just about perfect”- isn’t that nice of her?! I guess it’s because I’m a super friendly and well behaved girl. I love everyone I meet: kids, cats and other dogs included! I would make a perfect play-mate for your dog at home and have a great puppy energy. Foster mom says I love the other dog’s attention and that’s true- I’m just such a social butterfly, I love being around them all the time!

Ravyn and Macy1 - CopyI’m also a very smart girl and already know “sit,” walk well on the leash and am doggy door trained. That means it will be easy for you to take me anywhere you want to go- maybe a trip to the dog park or a jog around the block?! Foster mom says to be sure to tell you I’m a good girl too- I sleep through the night and don’t chew or dig, as long as I have lots of fun toys around me I’m just sure I’ve got that something special you’ve been looking for in your new furry family member! Fun, loving and friendly- that’s ME!

From Macy’s foster mom, March 31st: Macy only needs two baths a week, so she’s only had one since she’s been here and it went fine. She’s really mellow. She’s not itchy or anything anymore. She’s kind of sneezy, but eating fine, and just having a ball with the yard. The couple little patches she had are already all healed up with hair growing back.
