Jasper's woundMeet Jasper.

Jasper is just a puppy- only 10 weeks old at time of rescue. He was reportedly attacked by several other dogs, leaving a large chunk of his flesh missing along with multiple puncture wounds and scabs all over his tiny body.

The most heartbreaking part of this story are not Jasper’s physical wounds though…

The most heartbreaking part to us, is that this young puppy who has already been through so much in his short life, often wakes up out of a dead sleep screaming. It’s as if he’s having a horrible nightmare of the ordeal he just endured.

Jasper was started on antibiotics and pain medicine at the shelter, but he was running out of time. He needed a rescue and a home to recover in- that’s when M.A.I.N. and one of our wonderful fosters stepped in! Jasper is safe now and will receive all the vet care and TLC his broken body needs to heal.

We know soon enough, those nightmares will turn into sweet puppy dreams of toys, chew bones and all the love Jasper’s heart can handle.

We can only continue to help animals in need like Jasper with your ongoing support. Please, if you are able, donate to Jasper’s medical care chip-in fund via Pay Pal below. Thank You!

  1. When I saw Jasper’s picture, I immediately thought of our Oliver who we adopted last August via M.A.I.N. We’ve come to call Oliver “nurse O” because he’s always tending to the other members of our home (human and furry) when one is not feeling well or has a wound that needs kissing. If Jasper needs a little extra TLC in addition to the GREAT care he’s receiving from his foster family, I’m sure nurse O would be glad to provide some. Thanks to M.A.I.N. volunteers, foster families, etc for making a difference in the lives of so many furry and human friends!

  2. That’s awesome, Elaine! Thanks for the kind words! When you get a chance, post a pic of Oliver aka “nurse O” to the adopter’s forum- we’d all love to see him again. 🙂
