EileenMeet Eileen.

Poor Eileen was running the streets as a stray when she was struck by a car. She was brought into the shelter unable to stand and bleeding from her mouth.

The shelter started her on pain medication and hoped an owner would come…no one ever did. Eileen needed a rescue to help her and that’s when MAIN stepped in!

Eileen has nerve damage to her right front leg and has begun to chew on the leg- the vets believe this was caused by the irritation of constant tingling from the nerve damage. Unfortunately, Eileen’s leg will need to be amputated, but we are confident she will do amazing as a tripawd. In addition, Eileen has a fractured tooth that needs to be pulled.

Please keep Eileen in your thoughts as she learns to adjust to life as a tripawd. We’ve seen in the past how amazingly resilient dogs are and have no doubt Eileen will do just fine with three legs.

Please, if you are able, donate to Eileen’s medical care via PayPal below. We will keep everyone updated as Eileen heals in a loving foster home. Thank You!

Eileen’s Updates:

Congrats to Eileen, who has officially found furever!

From Eileen’s foster family, Sept. 2015: Eileen did well on her first night in foster. She fits right in with our gang. She is a little naughty though! My husband and I were in the other room on the computer and I heard her cone rubbing around a lot…I walk into the kitchen and she is standing on the kitchen table wagging her tail and looking at me! How she got on the table with only three functioning legs is beyond me! My husband always tells me that dogs don’t see disabilities and he is so right!
