Tippen

Tippen Update – Aug 26, 2019

Tippen has neurological symptoms that produced severe balance issues and caused him to slowly fall over. Tippen has seen two neurologists, had extensive blood panels done, and several MRIs. The conclusion thus far is that Tippen’s problem is a congenital defect and not harmful to his body or mind.

Tippen’s foster mom tells us that he only falls when he gets excited; like when someone comes to visit or when Tippen sees the leash! Since Tippen continues to have balance and falling issues, he’s still under medical care and is being monitored closely. He’s doing great and is a typical pup. Rumor has it that when Tippen is released from medical care, his foster mom will become is forever mom and he’ll live happily along with his foster sister Domino. We’ll let you know if (when) that happens.

Donations are still needed for Tippen’s medical care. To donate, please use our donation form found in the right side column. 100% of every dollar donated goes to the dogs.

Little Tippen is only 12 weeks old and he’s our new best friend!

He was turned into the Arizona Humane Society as a stray and M.A.I.N. was contacted when AHS discovered that Tippen has trouble walking and often falls down.

As you can see in his video, Tippen doesn’t let his condition stop him from being a happy puppy, but M.A.I.N. is working to get Tippen the medical care he needs to determine the cause of these spells – we’ll keep you updated.

April 10th Tippen update!

Tippen is a high energy, happy puppy. He loves playing with my dog Birdie, and chewing on toys (and shoes, pants, phone cords…). He does tip over and walks with his head tilted to one side following these spells. He had an exam and bloodwork at BAH and all looked normal. We are making a plan from here and scheduling an exam at the neurologist. He is SUPER cute and very entertaining!

NEXT STEPS: An image of his brain (an MRI) would give us the most information. It could be any of the things listed, but some are treatable and some aren’t. The MRI is $2,800 – $3,200 (minus a 10% rescue discount). The price difference depends on if they do a spinal tap. We’ll keep everyone posted as we know more!
