Taisley at the shelterMeet Taisley.

Taisley was rescued from the county shelter with an injury to her right back leg. Poor Taisley is just a puppy and should be running and playing, but instead she has to hop slowly from place to place. Taisley needed a rescue and full service veterinarian to help her leg- enter M.A.I.N!

Taisley’s initial xrays show a fracture along the growth plate in her leg. We are working with our partner vet to come up with a plan of care and Taisley is being kept comfortable with pain medication in the meantime.

Taisley is currently in a wonderful foster home. She is a shy girl but learning to be a part of a home. We can’t wait to see this beautiful pup all healed and grown up!

Taisley’s Updates:

Taisley has been adopted! Congrats to Taisley and her furever family!

taisley playingTaisley Update from her foster family: “Day by day we have watched Taisley get stronger and more playful. She has such an amazing personality and we love her so dearly! Taisley gets along with dogs of all sizes and cats. Unknown on kids, as she hasn’t been around any yet. She is shy when meeting new people, but once she warms up, is a great dog!”

Taisley Update, Sept. 2015: Preliminary bloodwork is in: Taisley is Tick Fever (TF) positive, off the charts. She’s heartworm negative. Valley Fever is still pending. There are small abnormalities in her bloodwork, possibly secondary to the TF. A little anemic, low platelets. Her total protein and albumin are a little low. The low TP can cause fluid in the abdomen and Taisley IS having some abdominal swelling as a new symptom. The vet wants to do a UA to see if there is any protein loss in the urine. Taisley will be started on an antibiotics for a respiratory infection and the Tick Fever.
