Meet Bagel.

This adorable 10 week old “Maltipoo” mix was rescued from the County shelter.

His shelter notes stated that he may be having seizure-like activity and seemed drowsy. He also had some nasal congestion/sneezing.

Distemper is a possibility with his symptoms and so we wanted to get him to our partner vet for eval as soon as possible.

For now, Bagel is safe in foster and doing well. As we know, the symptoms of Distemper often wax and wane and so we will be keeping a very close eye on this cutie.

Bagel’s Updates:

Bagel is doing great so far in foster! We will be sure to keep everyone updated on his progress.

Update from Bagel’s Foster Mom – 11-15-2016:  Holy cow. Bagel went on his first walk this morning outside of my house/yard. He also figured out how to jump up on the couch and even jumped up on to my bed today! It’s like he finally figured out how to jump and he is so excited about it.
But here’s the crazy thing. We were out in the yard. I have a high block fence. Bagel walked up to it, stared at it for a minute and then jumped up the wall about 3 feet and tried to climb it 😳😳😳 He’s too little and I was right there but holy cow! He tried to climb the wall.
He loved the walk and cried at the gate when we got back home. He loves being outside too. I’m glad I now know that he’s a jumper (I had absolutely no idea) so we can make sure his adoptive family has a very, very high wall.
Are Maltese Poodle mixes known for jumping? That seems totally bizarre to me.

Bagel in slow motion, Nov 8, 2016

Update from Bagel’s Foster Mom – 11-2-2016:  Bagel is feeling much better today and his incision site looks really good. He’s adjusted pretty well to the cone of shame which is good because he has to be in it 24/7. The kitties don’t like the new alien puppy, poor little Bagel.

From Bagel’s foster mom, Sept. 2016: This is him leaping for joy when I got home from work and took him outside. He’s a sweetheart. He is mostly housebroken and loves the crate, especially at night. He’s finally noticed my cats and has attempted to chase a couple of times but I think he really just wants to play.

Molly, our resident Photography Angel stopped by to check on Bagel and left with these wonderful photos! What a little Muffin Top!
