AmosMeet Amos.

Amos is a five year old Terrier mix who was taken in from the county shelter. His shelter vet notes say that he has a wound on his ear that is getting worse and appears to be ulcerating. This wound could possibly be an infected polyp or worse- a cancerous mass.

This wound will likely require extensive surgical excision to fix, and the shelter is unable to do this procedure. Because of this, Amos is not suitable for adoption and needs us! We will be taking this cutie to our partner vet as soon as possible and will keep everyone updated on his progress.

Please, if you are able, donate to Amos’ medical care via PayPal below. Thank You!

Amos’ Updates:

November 6th, 2016:  There are few things harder in rescue than loss. Heaven got a new four-legged angel, his name is Amos, a long time MAIN foster. Amos battled multiple health issues during his time with MAIN and passed away at home Friday night. Thankfully, he passed in the loving arms of his foster dad. At the adoption events he always drew attention and was always the terrific terrier! A scruffy and curmudgeon soul, Amos had acres of character. He will be missed. Thank you to his long time fosters, Anna and Dave, who made his time here filled with love.

From Amos’ foster family: Sweet Amos likes to hide behind the pillows, lol. He is making himself right at home and is a great dog. He gets along well with the other two small/medium dogs in his foster home. He has impeccable house manners and is dog door trained. He is such a good boy but needs a home without small children; however, he is fine with the 10 year old child in his foster home. His only “quirks” are that he doesn’t like to be picked up or be handled in the face area. Otherwise he is perfect!
